“Farmsubsidy is payment for taking care of nature”

Very few of the large landowners have ever given interviews about the farmsubsidies, they receive. In 2007 Poul Martin Mikkelsen, former chairperson of the European Landowner Organisation, gave an interview to me for Danish daily Information. His main points were, that society enjoys seeing farmlandscape, and that farmers should be paid for that, that he could not make a surplus on farming without the subsidies, and that farmers should be paid extra, if the public wanted ecologic farming.
